Why re-enterable
Protect the opening without losing future flexibility.
Every mastic-sealed penetration becomes a problem the day the cabling changes. A Firebreak transit is a permanent, certified opening in the fire barrier—engineered to be opened and closed for the life of the building. Pyralta checks every proposed construction against the certified scope before order.
A dry system
Foam plugs restrict the passage of cold smoke day to day; under fire the intumescent core expands into a dense block of fire-resistant char. No wet trades, no curing, no routine maintenance.
Cables, baskets and pipes
Tested with electrical cables to 80 mm, telecoms bundles to 100 mm, unsheathed wire, steel cable baskets, PVC pipe to 82 mm and insulated copper and steel pipe to 90 mm.
Supplied and installed
One accountable route: engineering review, supply, certified installation in light partitions, and surveyed works in concrete and floors—with per-unit rates and photo evidence.

Frequently asked.
What fire rating do Firebreak Service Transits achieve?
Up to E 240 for integrity and up to EI 180 for integrity with insulation, depending on the tested construction, service type, cable loading, insulation and installation configuration. Systems are tested to EN 1366-3 and classified to EN 13501-2, with ETA 21/0207 and UL International certificate UL-EU-00772. Note that the manufacturer summary sheet states “up to 4 hours (EI240)”, but no table in the technical data sheet or the UL certificate scope shows an EI value above 180—the 240-minute figures are integrity (E). Our engineers confirm the applicable classified system for your exact barrier before order.
Can cables be added after installation?
Yes—that is the point. Open the device, route the new cables through the intumescent cushions and close it again. The certified seal is restored without break-out and without recertifying the penetration.
Can it be fitted around cables that are already installed?
Yes. The casing is hinged: open the lid, fit the transit around the existing services, close it and refit the foam plugs. No disconnection of live services is required, which suits remediation and retrofit work in operational buildings.
Does it work for pipes as well as cables?
Yes—tested with PVC pipe up to 82 mm, and copper and steel pipes up to 90 mm with continuous K-Flex ST or Armaflex insulation, reaching up to E 240 / EI 180 depending on the construction. The technical data sheet carries the full pipe tables.
What is included in a complete set?
One transit device plus the corresponding mounting-flange set. Spare and grouped flange sets—duplex, triplex, quadplex and sixplex for the 102 mm and 65 mm square transits—are listed separately.
Can transits be installed empty, for future capacity?
Yes. A closed transit is a certified blank penetration seal. Many data centres install spare transits during fit-out; when new cables are needed years later they are simply pulled through the cushions, with no wet trades, no specialist labour and no new certification.
Do you install?
Yes. Light-partition installation is priced per unit and includes opening formation, complete installation with flanges on both faces, perimeter sealing, a traceability label and photo evidence. Concrete, masonry and floors are quoted after survey.
Are bespoke sizes available?
ST240 large transits are available in bespoke widths between 550 and 1100 mm on request, and the square device is also available in 65 × 65 mm.
Is the system compliant for the UK as well as the EU?
Yes. The product carries a CE marking under the CPR and a UKCA Declaration of Performance, plus UL International certification UL-EU-00772, so one system covers EU, UK and international specifications.
